My name is Claire Austin, and I'm an independent, inclusive and fully qualified wedding celebrant based in South Devon.
As a recommended celebrant at over twenty wedding venues, you can feel confident you're working with a trusted and respected professional. With over fourteen years of experience in the wedding industry through my bridal accessories brand, Claire Austin England, I've had the joy of helping hundreds of brides bring their wedding vision to life, and now I get to do that in the most meaningful way of all - by creating and performing beautiful wedding ceremonies.

Every script is written entirely from scratch, with your love story at the heart of it. Whether you're dreaming of a wedding ceremony, an intimate elopement or a heartfelt vow renewal, I'm here to craft something completely bespoke and most importantly, completely you.

How Does it Work?

Get in touch via the contact form on my website to see if your date is available.

We will arrange an in-person meeting or video call to discuss your wedding plans and I will send you a quote via email afterwards.

If you're happy to go ahead, I will send you a contract and an invoice for 50% of the total fee (non refundable). When this is signed and paid, your date will be written into my diary!

A few months (or weeks depending on how far in advance you book) in advance of your wedding, I will send you a questionnaire to fill out. This will be asking questions all about your love story and important elements of the ceremony you would like included. We will create your perfect ceremony together. This can also be done in person or over video call.

I shall write the first draft of your wedding ceremony and send it to you to look over. I will go back and forth until you are 100% happy with it. A final video call or in person meeting for a logistics meeting.

The remaining balance (non refundable) will be due 12 weeks before the ceremony or on production of the final script (whichever is sooner).

I will conduct a venue visit and a rehearsal can be scheduled with you present (or we can run through the ceremony structure over video call instead)

Travel within 30 miles of Torquay (additional mileage charged at £1.00 per mile)

We very luckily bumped into Claire at an open day for the venue we had planned to elope at. Claire immediately made us both feel at ease, and we booked her on the spot. Thank goodness we did, because Claire became such a special part of our very intimate day.
From the moment we booked, communication was frequent and in-depth, and you could tell Claire really cared about our story and wanted to get every detail perfect when writing our ceremony script. Claire’s ‘love questionnaires’ felt particularly special, as they really made us think back over our relationship and talk about little moments we may have forgotten but that are such an important part of our story. From our answers, Claire created the most beautiful, detailed script, you’d have thought it had been written by someone who had known us for years (rather than 12 weeks), and it’s something we will remember forever.
Claire was so much more than just a celebrant to us. With only myself, my husband, and our two sons sharing the day together, Claire became a wedding planner, chauffeur, nerve calmer, and bridal party all in one.
